Aquila Uke Strings

Until the mid 20th century ukuleles were strung with gut which combined excellent promptness of attack with brilliant tone. Unfortunately though, gut was not very durable and, being affected by temperature and humidity, it was difficult to keep in tune. With the advent of nylon, this then became the sensible choice for ukulele strings even though some of the traditional tone was lost as a result. Aquila strings now provide the answer to this problem. They are made from Nylgut® which is a new and innovative synthetic material combining the tonal properties of gut with the durability, strength and stability of nylon. No wonder that they have become the preferred choice of so many professional players!
